This digital quilt, created by Shenandoah intern Kalli Walsh, represents the pieces that make up Volume 73.1. Here, she explains the process of creating this quilt:
“My idea for the quilt project was to highlight how all of the different works of Shenandoah come together to form one cohesive edition, despite the differences in medium and content. After reading each piece, I chose an image that I felt best encapsulated some aspect of the work. After compiling all of the images, I used Adobe InDesign and Photoshop to change the colors to ones that matched the Shenandoah logo and added fabric texture for some contrast. I then hand drew ‘stitches’ to give it the quilt effect.”
