Marc Conner

oxMarc C. Conner is the Jo M. and James M. Ballengee Professor of English and Associate Provost at Washington and Lee. He has taught at Princeton and Notre Dame. His books include The Aesthetics of Toni Morrison: Speaking the Unspeakable (Mississippi, 2000), Charles Johnson: The Novelist as Philosopher (Mississippi,2007), and The Poetry of James Joyce Reconsidered (Florida, 2012). Marc directs a study abroad program to Ireland, and in 2012 the Great Courses program released his lecture series titled "How to Read and Understand Shakespeare." He lives in Lexington with his wife, Barbara, and their three sons.
